Johannes Grützke

* 1937 in Berlin, Germany

Johannes Michael Wilhelm Grützke was an art student of Hans Orlowski’s and a master student of Peter Janssen’s at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin from 1957 to 1964. In 1973 he co-founded the Schule der neuen Prächtigkeit. From 1992 to 2002 Johannes Grützke was a professor of the art of painting at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Nuremberg. He is a member of the Freien Akademie der Künste Hamburg. Numerous awards and works of art in public collections (such as the Frankfurter Paulskirche; Deutsches Historisches Museum, Berlin; Spengler Museum in Hanover)
